Despite the amount of oversight and regulation in the financial industry, the financial crisis of the past few years displayed the conflicts of interest and lack of transparency that exist within the financial services industry. Right now, many major financial institution's primary source of revenue has shifted towards a product-driven and sales-oriented approach. Sales managers at these firms may view their advisor’s clients as a distribution network to whom they could sell their firm's proprietary (generally higher cost, lower benefit) products. This incentive structure created a natural conflict as advisors shifted from providing objective advice to selling proprietary products that were not always in the best interest of their clients. Mr. Hudson felt strongly that a need arose for an advisory firm that could provide clients with accurate, appropriate, and conflict free advice. The group’s experience as asset managers and investors provides our clients with the necessary tools to pursue their financial objectives such as growth, income, or preservation of capital.
